Homespun Holiday Countdown Day 23

Hi friends! As the holidays draw close, with all the preparation, work and stresses that sometimes come with it, I am reminded this season of the joy it holds in the eyes and hearts of children.  Our two and a half year old grandson is all things Christmas this year and our hearts have been full watching him take in all the Christmas magic. Christmas present this year is a reliving of our days of being young parents oh so many years ago. These are the days to treasure for sure and the reason we moved from Wisconsin to Kentucky two years ago! Our sweet grandson loves the train around our tree and we have spent many hours playing with him, enjoying and encouraging his imagination. A few weeks ago, grandpa built a wooden tunnel for the train and yesterday we watched our grandson proudly paint it! He was very concentrated and focused, lol. Of course, it wouldn't be a successful paint job if he didn't get some paint in his hair. I think he takes after grandma. Ha! If you have little...

Hi y'all! I've been battling a horrific cold this past week, so I'm trying my best to get my daily countdown posts up. Today, a very quick look at our outdoor living area's fireplace. It's so cozy year round, but especially at Christmas.

Homespun Holiday Countdown Day 5

Image
Hi y'all! Welcome to Day 5 of my Homespun Holiday Countdown. I am so grateful you have taken the time to stop on in to check out what I've got going today. I wanted to share a little corner of my living room. We built our ranch style, open concept home in 2021. The floor plan doesn't offer a lot of nooks and crannies, and because it's open concept, it also doesn't offer a lot of wall space. I do love quirky spaces, but that was not to be in this house. Nonetheless, I try to make most of the corners and crannies I do have! Today's corner showcases a vintage Ethan Allen secretary desk I purchased from Facebook Marketplace. I like to style it with old books about Kentucky as well my collection of vintage pocket Bibles. For Christmas, I've displayed some antique as well as some vintage inspired Christmas items. Hope you enjoy this cozy little corner! Thanks for stopping by, Join me at a link party or two:  Tuesday Turnabout ,  Karin's Kottage ,  Fluster Bus...
