Far Ago Farm

 Hi friends! It's been cold here in Kentucky and we even got a few inches of snow this morning. Winter has definitely shown up here and around the country! I actually enjoy cold weather and hunkering down in the house with warm sweaters, cozy  blankets and a steamy drink.  I have been working on a little kitchen refresh that I'm hoping to share in a few days. In the meantime, I hope you'll enjoy a few pictures of our living room fireplace area. I hope you all stay warm and have a terrific weekend! I made some homemade chicken soup this morning and it has been simmering away on the stove top - it smells so good on this blustery January day. I'm looking forward to having some for supper tonight! Today I am excited to share some pictures I took recently at one of my favorite places to shop for vintage decor.  It is also filled with great styling ideas.   Ohio Valley Antique Mall  is located just outside of Cincinnati in Fairfield, Ohio. It boasts over 550 vendors and is hands down the cleanest, most organized antique mall I've ever been to. It even has a snack bar and grill, should you get hungry or thirsty during your visit. This is definitely a destination stop for any antique and vintage lover! Enjoy these snaps of Christmas cheer.  Hi y'all! I've been battling a horrific cold this past week, so I'm trying my best to get my daily countdown posts up. Today, a very quick look at our outdoor living area's fireplace. It's so cozy year round, but especially at Christmas.

 Hi y'all! For today's countdown, I'm sharing the fireplace wall in our master bedroom. With only nine days left until Christmas, this girl is getting tired!😂 Nice to have a cozy retreat for a nap or a long winter sleep.  Hi y'all! Our sweet grandson was with us for a few days over the weekend, so we had time to do some fun, age appropriate crafts with him.  One of the crafts was making salt dough hand print ornaments. So easy, inexpensive and they always turn out so cute! I just searched for a recipe online that lined up with the ingredients I had in my pantry and we mixed up a batch. Once mixed, I rolled out the dough and let the hand printing begin! He really liked doing that and I had his attention long enough to get five! I cut away the excess dough away, poked a hole for a hanger and put them in the oven to dry. My recipe took about an hour at 300 degrees. After they cooled, I painted them on both sides with white acrylic paint. Then I finished the front of them with all of the details. You certainly could paint both sides if you wanted to. Once the paint was dry, I sprayed them with two coats of matte sealer. Super cute! Thanks for stopping by, Join me at a party or two: Favorite Things...
