Homespun Holiday Countdown Day 21

Image
TFT Blog Hop  Hi y'all! Depending on your perspective, the holidays are winding down or gearing up! Anyway you look at it, Christmas is almost here. I think I'm pretty ready for it, but I know there is still much to do! How about you? Are you ready for the big days ahead? Its been a rough ten days or so of having a good old fashioned head cold, but I am on my way to recovery and if you read yesterday's post, you know I ventured out to one of my favorite antique malls  Ohio Valley Antique Mall  in Fairfield, Ohio.  I didn't get much, but I thought I'd show you my loot! Look for these in my home tour on December 25th to see how I've styled everything. Thanks for stopping by, Join me at a party or two: Thursday Favorite Things Funtastic Friday

Monday Musings

Hi Y'all! I hope you had a wonderful weekend as well as a very happy Easter. We had a great day, starting off in the morning at church. Our daughter, son in law and grandson came over for our traditional Sunday dinner together. Of course, it was made extra special with Easter baskets, eggs and treats as well as an old fashioned supper of ham, scalloped potatoes, carrots, asparagus, deviled eggs and butter pecan cake I dont have a lot to share today, as I've been busy taking down the Easter decor and getting the house put back in order. I feel like my house has been sporting holiday decor since October and I'm ready to get back to the basics and let the house breathe a bit. I'm looking forward to sharing my everyday decor with you.  I will share a few snaps today  of my Easter dining decor and a cute picture of our grandson. Unfortunately, the sun wouldn't let me get a clear picture so please excuse the poor quality. Still cute though!   Thanks for stopping by! Join ...

Lamp Refresh Reveal

Image
Hi y'all! I finished up my lamp refresh and I'm so happy with how it turned out. You can see the before  here . It's amazing what just a little Rub n Buf  can do to change the appearance of a finish.  I've had these lamps for years and while they aren't really my style any more, as I said in my  previous post , I just can't part with them. There's just something about them that pulls at my heartstrings. That being said, I decided a change in finish would help them fit better with my decor.  The Rub n But in Spanish Copper gave the lamp bases a more realistic finish and the darkened copper look blends so much better with the finishes in the rest of the room.  I let some of the original finish peek through for a more authentic look. Here's a picture of the lamp before. And this is after the Rub n Buf. Just a little refresh with big results, don't you think? Thank you so much for stopping by today and as Holy Week draws to a glorious close, I wish you ...
