Computer Issues - But Some Before Pics

 Hi friends,

I am so sorry I didn't post yesterday as promised.  I bought a new computer and spent most of the day on the phone with tech support trying to work out some problems (as in user errors, lol).  I finally got up and running last night, only to find the photos I wanted to use did not save to my SD. Ugh!

However, I still wanted to get a post up for you all.  We recently gave our den a facelift.  It hadn't been changed in quite a while and the orange ceiling/brown walls were feeling way too dark.  The walls were brown, the floor was brown, the furniture was brown! After two coats of primer and three coats of a subtle, ice cream color, things were brightening up and looking so much fresher.

We also added a beadboard accent wall, topped with a bit of wine paint above the picture rail.

Here are some work in progress pictures.  I hope to figure out my picture issue  and can show you the pretty after shots soon.

    I love beadboard. Have some in our kitchen. I am not computer savvy either, so I would be useless trying to figure something out. So glad you got your issue solved. Janice

Cold Weather Cozy

 Hi friends! It's been cold here in Kentucky and we even got a few inches of snow this morning. Winter has definitely shown up here and around the country! I actually enjoy cold weather and hunkering down in the house with warm sweaters, cozy  blankets and a steamy drink.  I have been working on a little kitchen refresh that I'm hoping to share in a few days. Cozy Winter Favorites: Wax Melts

Hi friends! I've been thinking about the things that make my house a home and give me all the cozy feels during the cold and sometimes dreary days of winter. I also thought it might be fun to do a little series of posts about them to share with you! Today let's visit one of all time favorite ways I like to cozy up my home, not just in the winter, but year around - wax melts!  There are so many things to like about wax melts, but my number one reason I'm a fan is no open flame! No danger of fire, no dirty soot. Don't get me wrong, I love a good candle (and do use them) but yikes, they sure burn dirty and make a mess when used day after day. And of course, the danger of forgetting to extinguish them and the risk of fire.  I do like the smell - or "throw" - of a candle more than a wax melt, but the wax melts are a great alternative!   Wax melts can be very economical - only a few dollars for a pack that will last you many, many days. Homespun Holiday Countdown Day 5

 Hi y'all! Welcome to Day 5 of my Homespun Holiday Countdown. I am so grateful you have taken the time to stop on in to check out what I've got going today. I wanted to share a little corner of my living room. We built our ranch style, open concept home in 2021. The floor plan doesn't offer a lot of nooks and crannies, and because it's open concept, it also doesn't offer a lot of wall space. I do love quirky spaces, but that was not to be in this house. Nonetheless, I try to make most of the corners and crannies I do have! Today's corner showcases a vintage Ethan Allen secretary desk I purchased from Facebook Marketplace. I like to style it with old books about Kentucky as well my collection of vintage pocket Bibles. For Christmas, I've displayed some antique as well as some vintage inspired Christmas items.
