Lamp Refresh Reveal

 Hi y'all!

I finished up my lamp refresh and I'm so happy with how it turned out. You can see the before here. It's amazing what just a little Rub n Buf  can do to change the appearance of a finish. 

I've had these lamps for years and while they aren't really my style any more, as I said in my previous post, I just can't part with them. There's just something about them that pulls at my heartstrings. That being said, I decided a change in finish would help them fit better with my decor. 



The Rub n But in Spanish Copper gave the lamp bases a more realistic finish and the darkened copper look blends so much better with the finishes in the rest of the room. 


I let some of the original finish peek through for a more authentic look.

And this is after the Rub n Buf. Just a little refresh with big results, don't you think?

 Hi friends! It's been cold here in Kentucky and we even got a few inches of snow this morning. Winter has definitely shown up here and around the country! I actually enjoy cold weather and hunkering down in the house with warm sweaters, cozy  blankets and a steamy drink.  I have been working on a little kitchen refresh that I'm hoping to share in a few days. Cozy Winter Favorites: Wax Melts

Hi friends! I've been thinking about the things that make my house a home and give me all the cozy feels during the cold and sometimes dreary days of winter. I also thought it might be fun to do a little series of posts about them to share with you! Today let's visit one of all time favorite ways I like to cozy up my home, not just in the winter, but year around - wax melts!  There are so many things to like about wax melts, but my number one reason I'm a fan is no open flame! No danger of fire, no dirty soot. Don't get me wrong, I love a good candle (and do use them) but yikes, they sure burn dirty and make a mess when used day after day. 2024 Will Be Enough

 Hi y'all! Happy New Year to all of you!  I've been thinking a lot about the new year and all the usual resolutions and expectations we all tend to set for ourselves with a 365 day clean slate presented to us each January 1st.  As the Christmas season unfolded, I also have been thinking about the pressures and expectations we tend to put on ourselves to make the Christmas experience "perfect."   We craft, we decorate, we bake, we entertain, we buy and yet, it never seems enough. Social media has a lot to do with this feeling of not doing or being enough. I noticed in so  many blogs and vlogs this past season, where the creators would constantly  apologize that "I need to repaint this room, our Formica countertops need to be replaced, we ran out of time to install new floors, the curtains are all wrong" and on and on and on.
