Welcome friends!

Winter has finally turned our way here in Wisconsin and is coming at us like a runaway train.  Yesterday we got socked with about 8 inches of snow and the forecast for tomorrow is a windchill of 35 below zero.  Below zero...

Oh boy.

On the positive, frosty weather is a perfect time for some nesting - home decor projects, baking, cooking, etc.  Yesterday, my school was closed due to the snowstorm and I was able to get after a closet that has been the pit of disorganization for months and months. It felt good to straighten it all out - I even found a forgotten Christmas present for the Mr., lol!

I wanted to show you these super cute muffins I recently purchased from Amazon. They kind of “go” with our cold weather.






Aren’t they just the cutest?  They are so realistic!  They smell like muffins, they even FEEL like muffins, lol.  Another nifty feature is they are magnetized so they are super easy to style in an arrangement.  And...zero calories!  Especially good news this time of year!

    Hi Jane. I absoultely love these. I am heading over to Amazon to look for these. I have a vintage cake holder that I have out on my shelves and it needs some faux muffins like this. When I put real muffins on it they just do not last long enough (hubby eating them!)
    to be a cute display. Thanks for sharing this.
    Hugs and Happy Friday. OMG this cold we are both having and snow. I hope we both get an early Spring. We girls can dream. Hope Palmer is doing ok with these temps. Little Buddy does his thing outside so much faster with his paws hurting from the frozen ground.

    LOL- I thought those were real and that you were BAKING while you were cleaning out your closet! LOL So funny. It is so cold here it isn't even funny. Even with the sun out today it LOOKED cold out there and it WAS!

 Hi friends! It's been cold here in Kentucky and we even got a few inches of snow this morning. Winter has definitely shown up here and around the country! I actually enjoy cold weather and hunkering down in the house with warm sweaters, cozy  blankets and a steamy drink.  I have been working on a little kitchen refresh that I'm hoping to share in a few days. Cozy Winter Favorites: Wax Melts

Hi friends! I've been thinking about the things that make my house a home and give me all the cozy feels during the cold and sometimes dreary days of winter. I also thought it might be fun to do a little series of posts about them to share with you! Today let's visit one of all time favorite ways I like to cozy up my home, not just in the winter, but year around - wax melts!  There are so many things to like about wax melts, but my number one reason I'm a fan is no open flame! No danger of fire, no dirty soot. Don't get me wrong, I love a good candle (and do use them) but yikes, they sure burn dirty and make a mess when used day after day. And of course, the danger of forgetting to extinguish them and the risk of fire.  I do like the smell - or "throw" - of a candle more than a wax melt, but the wax melts are a great alternative!   Wax melts can be very economical - only a few dollars for a pack that will last you many, many days. Homespun Holiday Countdown Day 5

 Hi y'all! Welcome to Day 5 of my Homespun Holiday Countdown. I am so grateful you have taken the time to stop on in to check out what I've got going today. I wanted to share a little corner of my living room. We built our ranch style, open concept home in 2021. The floor plan doesn't offer a lot of nooks and crannies, and because it's open concept, it also doesn't offer a lot of wall space. I do love quirky spaces, but that was not to be in this house. Nonetheless, I try to make most of the corners and crannies I do have! Today's corner showcases a vintage Ethan Allen secretary desk I purchased from Facebook Marketplace. I like to style it with old books about Kentucky as well my collection of vintage pocket Bibles. For Christmas, I've displayed some antique as well as some vintage inspired Christmas items.
