Corbel Crush

Hi everyone!

Long time, no blog post. I had good intentions of blogging this year, but holy cats - time has gotten away from me.  All is well in my world, but blogging took a back seat.  Hopefully I will get on the regular to share what I'm up to!

Today I want to share a super cute pair of corbels I recently picked up in the 75% off section of Hobby Lobby.

 They are huge and have a great farmhouse vibe. So many times corbels tend to look very ornate and Victorian or Tuscan.  The ones I found have fairly simple lines.


Look at the price - under $9.00 each! Can't beat that.


The finish they came in was bit  orangey/pink for my taste, but that was okay because where I plan on using them calls for a coat of my trim paint.


This is a great shot of the original color alongside one with a coat of the Heirloom White. Although made out of resin, they really have a fabulous rustic texture and look very realistic.


They both received two coats of white paint and are currently drying.  I'll be back tomorrow to show you where they are being used in our house.

    Wow that is a great price on those. I need some new ones for the new house. I hope my Hobby Lobby has them on sale. Glad to see a post pop up from you.

Cold Weather Cozy

 Hi friends! It's been cold here in Kentucky and we even got a few inches of snow this morning. Winter has definitely shown up here and around the country! I actually enjoy cold weather and hunkering down in the house with warm sweaters, cozy  blankets and a steamy drink.  I have been working on a little kitchen refresh that I'm hoping to share in a few days. Cozy Winter Favorites: Wax Melts

Hi friends! I've been thinking about the things that make my house a home and give me all the cozy feels during the cold and sometimes dreary days of winter. I also thought it might be fun to do a little series of posts about them to share with you! Today let's visit one of all time favorite ways I like to cozy up my home, not just in the winter, but year around - wax melts!  There are so many things to like about wax melts, but my number one reason I'm a fan is no open flame! No danger of fire, no dirty soot. Don't get me wrong, I love a good candle (and do use them) but yikes, they sure burn dirty and make a mess when used day after day. And of course, the danger of forgetting to extinguish them and the risk of fire.  I do like the smell - or "throw" - of a candle more than a wax melt, but the wax melts are a great alternative!   Wax melts can be very economical - only a few dollars for a pack that will last you many, many days. Homespun Holiday Countdown Day 5

 Hi y'all! Welcome to Day 5 of my Homespun Holiday Countdown. I am so grateful you have taken the time to stop on in to check out what I've got going today. I wanted to share a little corner of my living room. We built our ranch style, open concept home in 2021. The floor plan doesn't offer a lot of nooks and crannies, and because it's open concept, it also doesn't offer a lot of wall space. I do love quirky spaces, but that was not to be in this house. Nonetheless, I try to make most of the corners and crannies I do have! Today's corner showcases a vintage Ethan Allen secretary desk I purchased from Facebook Marketplace. I like to style it with old books about Kentucky as well my collection of vintage pocket Bibles. For Christmas, I've displayed some antique as well as some vintage inspired Christmas items.
