Christmas in July: Looking Back Week 2

I am back for week two of my Christmas in July series.  Today I am sharing a few shots of our front entry.  



I love this old washstand.  I've had it for a few years now and keep threatening to give it a makdover.  I'm thinking of paint, but may try a darker gel stain.  This indecision is why it has remained golden oak! I guess I will know when it's "time," lol.




 I went with a dog theme for our Christmas entry last year.  The Rae Dunn ornaments are so cute.  I also went old school and made some applesauce and cinnamon dog bone ornaments.  They smelled so good and were a cute addition.


I found this old typewriter at a local antique store.  It was fun adding some whimsy with a letter typed by our dog!




I wish you all a wonderful Monday and start of a new week. I'm still trying to figure out my camera issues.. I hope to get that figured out soon.

    Jane, I am enjoying the idea of Christmas in July. As I sit at my computer in my little closet hole, sweating, I can't think of a better way to celebrate July. Loved the entry setting and Palmer's note to Santa..I may take a page from your book and replay some of last Christmas here before July is over..Stay well my friend..xxoJudy

Cold Weather Cozy

 Hi friends! It's been cold here in Kentucky and we even got a few inches of snow this morning. Winter has definitely shown up here and around the country! I actually enjoy cold weather and hunkering down in the house with warm sweaters, cozy  blankets and a steamy drink.  I have been working on a little kitchen refresh that I'm hoping to share in a few days. Cozy Winter Favorites: Wax Melts

Hi friends! I've been thinking about the things that make my house a home and give me all the cozy feels during the cold and sometimes dreary days of winter. I also thought it might be fun to do a little series of posts about them to share with you! Today let's visit one of all time favorite ways I like to cozy up my home, not just in the winter, but year around - wax melts!  There are so many things to like about wax melts, but my number one reason I'm a fan is no open flame! No danger of fire, no dirty soot. Don't get me wrong, I love a good candle (and do use them) but yikes, they sure burn dirty and make a mess when used day after day. Homespun Holiday Countdown Day 5

 Hi y'all! Welcome to Day 5 of my Homespun Holiday Countdown. I am so grateful you have taken the time to stop on in to check out what I've got going today. I wanted to share a little corner of my living room. We built our ranch style, open concept home in 2021. The floor plan doesn't offer a lot of nooks and crannies, and because it's open concept, it also doesn't offer a lot of wall space. I do love quirky spaces, but that was not to be in this house. Nonetheless, I try to make most of the corners and crannies I do have! Today's corner showcases a vintage Ethan Allen secretary desk I purchased from Facebook Marketplace. I like to style it with old books about Kentucky as well my collection of vintage pocket Bibles. For Christmas, I've displayed some antique as well as some vintage inspired Christmas items.
