Simple Country Pleasures

Hi friends!

Just a short and sweet post of a few simple country pleasures in my life today.  Remember the column "Simple Country Pleasures" that used to be in Country Living magazine? Written by Jo Northrup, it was a wonderful monthly read about the joy and beauty in the simplest of things.

Here a few things bringing me not and peace today:

Puppy dog kisses. Need I say more?

A Starbucks stop on a hot summer's day.  Here, Palmer is enjoying his first ever Pupacino.  He is a new fan! He is so cute with his whipped cream moustache.

This is the country road that leads to my local Hobby Lobby...So relaxing.

These cute lil'  fellas also live on a farm that is on my route to the city.  They are so cute, but are growing fast.

I hope you enjoyed some of simple country pleasures today.  I'd love to know some of yours.  Please share in the comments. Coming up this week, I will be sharing our home office reveal.

Thanks for stopping by,

  1. Jane isn't it nice to stop and enjoy the simple things in life. That brings me the most joy too. Little Palmer is not big Palmer and he is loving his Starbucks. Buddy's fave too. He gets excited when we go through the drive through at Starbucks because he knows what he will get. So funny how they know those things. Have a great start to the new week.

  3. Hi Jane. I remember that column and enjoyed reading it every month. What happened to the good old magazines? Palmer is gorgeous and darling at the same time. Love the creamy mustasch. If I could drive down that peaceful road to Hobby Lobby, I would never get there. I would have to pull off to the side and dream a little bit..Stay well..xxoJudy

  4. Thanks for sharing your simple country pleasures and I do remember the Country Living section of the same name. My simple country pleasure is taking a walk in the woods that is part of our property. My cats (3) go with me. There are deer paths that wind all through the woods and my hubby keeps the weeds down every few weeks with the weed eater. When it is very hot outside, it is always about 10 degrees cooler in the woods with the tree canopy. It really is a simple pleasure that I so enjoy and so do my kitties. :-)

  5. HI, Jane. Love your photos, reminds me so much of our ride to my parent's cottage in Mt.Morris. You never knew what kind of country church or type of cow would be around one of those windy county roads. I'm still in summer mode here..maybe next week for Fall! Hugs, Sandi

  6. Oh Jane! I adored this post! I may have to do something similar one of these days though I now live in a small town. There are small town pleasures after all.
Pupacino? I've never heard of it. What do they put in it? The thought of my little doxie mix getting any coffee at all is frightening!
    Blessings from Harvest Lane Cottage,
    Laura
