Fall Coffee Bar

 Hi friends,

Fall is quickly passing and we will be headed toward Thanksgiving and - gasp! - Christmas before you know it. It is such a wonderful time of year, but yikes! It sure goes all too quickly. 

I am still trying to settle into our house and get everything just so. This has kind of created a wall when it comes to blogging for me. You know - it's the old not clean enough, not perfect enough, not enough. Ugh!

Today I decided that I wasn't (never will be) the next Joanna Gaines, but I am enough for me! So, while not the perfection I am striving for, I am sharing with you the current state of my coffee bar.






I guess this is the start of my fall decor series, lol. Next up - our fireplace mantel.

    I think your Autumn coffee bar is just perfect! The colors all go together and who cares if you are not Joanna Gaines. You have your own style and it looks wonderful! Janice

    Oh, Jane, I know the feeling. Our house is in a state of ripped up right now--so, any decorating is just not enough, too messy, or non-existant. Your coffee bar is perfect and the fall colors go so well with your Jadeite. Green is a lovely basic and it goes with all seasons. It will be fun to see you tweak this a few times a year!     Your coffee bar is awesome. I love the old vintage coffee grinder you have on the wall. That piece is so cool. We all love Joanna but will never have her money or team of construction people to do our reno's and decorating. Like I always say if we surround ourselves with what we love then we truly will be happy. I bet you are loving your new home. All fresh and new and no reno's!!!! Have a great new week. xoxo Kris

    I love your coffee bar and the first thing that caught my eye was your beautiful Pioneer Woman's Jadeite pieces! I love those and have bought me some too! It takes a while to get settled. We've been here now almost 3 years and I'm always moving things around.

    Oh, Jane, I love how you decorate. We do want our work shown but most of us decorate for ourselves and our family anyway. I love your coffee bar. When we did our kitchen coffee bars were not the thing so I just have about enough room for just the pot..I am enjoying seeing your beautiful new home bit by bit..Happy Wednesday..xxoJudy

 Hi friends! It's been cold here in Kentucky and we even got a few inches of snow this morning. Winter has definitely shown up here and around the country! I actually enjoy cold weather and hunkering down in the house with warm sweaters, cozy  blankets and a steamy drink.  I have been working on a little kitchen refresh that I'm hoping to share in a few days. In the meantime, I hope you'll enjoy a few pictures of our living room fireplace area. I hope you all stay warm and have a terrific weekend! Cozy Winter Favorites: Wax Melts

Hi friends! I've been thinking about the things that make my house a home and give me all the cozy feels during the cold and sometimes dreary days of winter. I also thought it might be fun to do a little series of posts about them to share with you! Today let's visit one of all time favorite ways I like to cozy up my home, not just in the winter, but year around - wax melts!  There are so many things to like about wax melts, but my number one reason I'm a fan is no open flame! No danger of fire, no dirty soot. Don't get me wrong, I love a good candle (and do use them) but yikes, they sure burn dirty and make a mess when used day after day. And of course, the danger of forgetting to extinguish them and the risk of fire.  I do like the smell - or "throw" - of a candle more than a wax melt, but the wax melts are a great alternative!   Wax melts can be very economical - only a few dollars for a pack that will last you many, many days. Homespun Holiday Countdown Day 5

 Hi y'all! Welcome to Day 5 of my Homespun Holiday Countdown. I am so grateful you have taken the time to stop on in to check out what I've got going today. I wanted to share a little corner of my living room. We built our ranch style, open concept home in 2021. The floor plan doesn't offer a lot of nooks and crannies, and because it's open concept, it also doesn't offer a lot of wall space. I do love quirky spaces, but that was not to be in this house. Nonetheless, I try to make most of the corners and crannies I do have! Today's corner showcases a vintage Ethan Allen secretary desk I purchased from Facebook Marketplace. I like to style it with old books about Kentucky as well my collection of vintage pocket Bibles. For Christmas, I've displayed some antique as well as some vintage inspired Christmas items.
