Fall Front Yard

 Hi friends!

Since we are still getting settled in our new home and state, I am keeping our front yard decor for fall very low key.  I think it turned out really cute! I will show you close ups of our porch in a future post.





I know the magnetic mailbox cover and garden flags are pretty old school, but I am really enjoying them at this house and have been buying up some for each season. We moved here in mid August and so far I've displayed them for late summer, early fall and now Halloween.

I also thought the his and her scarecrows were really cute. I found them at a local garden center. They actually are both girl scarecrows, but I was able to cut the braids off of one to make it look more boyish. They also had bloomers under their dresses so I just cut off most of the dress to look like a shirt - again to help make one look more boyish.  Now they are a happy couple!

    I love it- Your new home is really pretty. I like those mailbox covers, too, and was thinking the other day that I miss the ones I left for our other house. They were the oversized ones and wouldn't work here. Hope you have a great week-xoDiana

Cold Weather Cozy

 Hi friends! It's been cold here in Kentucky and we even got a few inches of snow this morning. Winter has definitely shown up here and around the country! I actually enjoy cold weather and hunkering down in the house with warm sweaters, cozy  blankets and a steamy drink.  I have been working on a little kitchen refresh that I'm hoping to share in a few days. Cozy Winter Favorites: Wax Melts

Hi friends! I've been thinking about the things that make my house a home and give me all the cozy feels during the cold and sometimes dreary days of winter. I also thought it might be fun to do a little series of posts about them to share with you! Today let's visit one of all time favorite ways I like to cozy up my home, not just in the winter, but year around - wax melts!  There are so many things to like about wax melts, but my number one reason I'm a fan is no open flame! No danger of fire, no dirty soot. Don't get me wrong, I love a good candle (and do use them) but yikes, they sure burn dirty and make a mess when used day after day. And of course, the danger of forgetting to extinguish them and the risk of fire.  I do like the smell - or "throw" - of a candle more than a wax melt, but the wax melts are a great alternative!   Wax melts can be very economical - only a few dollars for a pack that will last you many, many days. Homespun Holiday Countdown Day 5

 Hi y'all! Welcome to Day 5 of my Homespun Holiday Countdown. I am so grateful you have taken the time to stop on in to check out what I've got going today. I wanted to share a little corner of my living room. We built our ranch style, open concept home in 2021. The floor plan doesn't offer a lot of nooks and crannies, and because it's open concept, it also doesn't offer a lot of wall space. I do love quirky spaces, but that was not to be in this house. Nonetheless, I try to make most of the corners and crannies I do have! Today's corner showcases a vintage Ethan Allen secretary desk I purchased from Facebook Marketplace. I like to style it with old books about Kentucky as well my collection of vintage pocket Bibles. For Christmas, I've displayed some antique as well as some vintage inspired Christmas items.
