 Hi friends!

I've been missing from blogging lately, but I'm here to give it another try. Truthfully, our new house has kind of confounded my decorating inspiration. The house itself - the bones, if you will - is just not my style and I've been trying to make friends with it, lol. Don't get me wrong, I'm so very grateful for our home and there are many nice features. I am starting to feel inspired and what better time than this time of renewal? 

With that said, I've got several posts coming up this week featuring what I've done for spring. I pretty much used what I had and tried to reuse find a few things as well.  Hope you enjoy!

The sofa table was a $35 goodwill find many years ago. The mirror belonged to my parents and was originally part of a dresser.

I made these cute carrots last year from yarn and Dollar Tree greenery.



The sweet bunny couple were from Hobby Lobby last year. I think they brought them back this year as well.





I added these cute candle lamps to my lanterns. They are electric and I have them on a remote.

Cold Weather Cozy

 Hi friends! It's been cold here in Kentucky and we even got a few inches of snow this morning. Winter has definitely shown up here and around the country! I actually enjoy cold weather and hunkering down in the house with warm sweaters, cozy  blankets and a steamy drink.  I have been working on a little kitchen refresh that I'm hoping to share in a few days. In the meantime, I hope you'll enjoy a few pictures of our living room fireplace area. I hope you all stay warm and have a terrific weekend! I made some homemade chicken soup this morning and it has been simmering away on the stove top - it smells so good on this blustery January day. I'm looking forward to having some for supper tonight! Cozy Winter Favorites: Wax Melts

Hi friends! I've been thinking about the things that make my house a home and give me all the cozy feels during the cold and sometimes dreary days of winter. I also thought it might be fun to do a little series of posts about them to share with you! Today let's visit one of all time favorite ways I like to cozy up my home, not just in the winter, but year around - wax melts!  There are so many things to like about wax melts, but my number one reason I'm a fan is no open flame! No danger of fire, no dirty soot. Don't get me wrong, I love a good candle (and do use them) but yikes, they sure burn dirty and make a mess when used day after day. And of course, the danger of forgetting to extinguish them and the risk of fire.  I do like the smell - or "throw" - of a candle more than a wax melt, but the wax melts are a great alternative!   Wax melts can be very economical - only a few dollars for a pack that will last you many, many days. Homespun Holiday Countdown Day 5

 Hi y'all! Welcome to Day 5 of my Homespun Holiday Countdown. I am so grateful you have taken the time to stop on in to check out what I've got going today. I wanted to share a little corner of my living room. We built our ranch style, open concept home in 2021. The floor plan doesn't offer a lot of nooks and crannies, and because it's open concept, it also doesn't offer a lot of wall space. I do love quirky spaces, but that was not to be in this house. Nonetheless, I try to make most of the corners and crannies I do have! Today's corner showcases a vintage Ethan Allen secretary desk I purchased from Facebook Marketplace. I like to style it with old books about Kentucky as well my collection of vintage pocket Bibles. For Christmas, I've displayed some antique as well as some vintage inspired Christmas items.
