Hello friends!

I'm so happy you are joining me for my Homespun Holiday Countdown for 2023! I am planning to post little snippets of our home each day leading up to Christmas and then will share a whole house tour on December 25th. Of course, I'm already behind because I was having trouble adding photos to this post😑. But, problem solved and there will be a second post later today.

    Jane: My computer went very, very wrong and I am now using a brand new one, so be ar with me as it is a hard job! Love your snippets and look forward to seeing all of them. The hutch looks so pretty with the lighting inside and I love the red dishes. Merry Christmas my friend..xxoJudy

 Hi friends! It's been cold here in Kentucky and we even got a few inches of snow this morning. Winter has definitely shown up here and around the country! I actually enjoy cold weather and hunkering down in the house with warm sweaters, cozy  blankets and a steamy drink.  I have been working on a little kitchen refresh that I'm hoping to share in a few days. In the meantime, I hope you'll enjoy a few pictures of our living room fireplace area. I hope you all stay warm and have a terrific weekend! Cozy Winter Favorites: Wax Melts

Hi friends! I've been thinking about the things that make my house a home and give me all the cozy feels during the cold and sometimes dreary days of winter. I also thought it might be fun to do a little series of posts about them to share with you! Today let's visit one of all time favorite ways I like to cozy up my home, not just in the winter, but year around - wax melts!  There are so many things to like about wax melts, but my number one reason I'm a fan is no open flame! No danger of fire, no dirty soot. Don't get me wrong, I love a good candle (and do use them) but yikes, they sure burn dirty and make a mess when used day after day. And of course, the danger of forgetting to extinguish them and the risk of fire.  I do like the smell - or "throw" - of a candle more than a wax melt, but the wax melts are a great alternative!   Wax melts can be very economical - only a few dollars for a pack that will last you many, many days. Homespun Holiday Countdown Day 5

 Hi y'all! Welcome to Day 5 of my Homespun Holiday Countdown. I am so grateful you have taken the time to stop on in to check out what I've got going today. I wanted to share a little corner of my living room. We built our ranch style, open concept home in 2021. The floor plan doesn't offer a lot of nooks and crannies, and because it's open concept, it also doesn't offer a lot of wall space. I do love quirky spaces, but that was not to be in this house. Nonetheless, I try to make most of the corners and crannies I do have! Today's corner showcases a vintage Ethan Allen secretary desk I purchased from Facebook Marketplace. I like to style it with old books about Kentucky as well my collection of vintage pocket Bibles. For Christmas, I've displayed some antique as well as some vintage inspired Christmas items.
