Foot Stool For A Cozy Corner

Image
Hi y'all! I wanted to share a little foot stool re-do I did the other day. I have a cozy corner set aside in my kitchen where I drink my morning coffee, read my devotional, chat on the phone, etc. I do like to prop my feet up from time to time and I've been searching for a small stool. After not having any luck - for quite awhile - at the thrift stores or antique shops, I let my fingers do the walking and found one on Amazon.   Let's take a stroll over to my kitchen corner, shall we? I really love my pretty green check chair, also an Amazon find. However, the foot stool I purchased had upholstery that really didn't go with the vibe of our home. I knew when I bought it I would be giving it a makeover. Changing upholstery fabric on a stool or a chair cushion is so easy and affordable that you could change it for the seasons practically! In my case, I was thinking a bit more  long term and chose a gorgeous, copper rust chenille from Hobby Lobby. It was only $10.99 a yard a...

The Summer Winds Down

Image
Hi y'all! It's been hot and humid here in northern Kentucky, which makes fall seem a long ways away. But there are signs of the season ahead - the blooms of summer are starting to look a bit leggy and tired, school will be starting next week and the sun is rising later and setting later. My summer decor has run it's course and I look forward to a few weeks of neutral, no season decor before introducing the beautiful abundance of fall. Hope you'll enjoy these pictures of summer living at Farago Farm! Spring Refresh On The Dining Buffet

Image
Hi y'all! The weather sure has been a rollercoaster here in Northern Kentucky this spring. We've had days near 80 and days in the 40s and every thing in between - often on the same day. Ha! Just when I feel spring is here, we get a frost warning. How are things in your neck of the woods?  Today was chilly and breezy, so a cozy candle was in order. The cool temps put me in nesting mode, so today was a decorating day. Despite the up and down temps, spring is definitely on the way. I've taken down all the Easter decor and decided to work on adding some warm weather touches around the house.  I started with a little rearranging of our dining area buffet cabinet.  I've had this rooster lamp from Kirklands for a few years now and always keep it in this antique basket. I'm planning on replacing this sign I bought at Hobby Lobby years ago, but haven't found quite the right piece. It used to hang in the foyer of our old house and when we moved to this house it fit the sp...
